two 5/16" holes for chips to clear, ran at 150 rpm, hole was .014 over sized. for boreing large holes this gets to a close size quick, and cheap.

Having played with Ford 300 I6's back in the day, for everyday driving, your best bet is to stay close to stock but, get the HD engine if you can. The power is only a bit better than the regular but, it is built much stronger. If you can't get one, the regular 300 is fine. Find some late 1970's heads because they have higher compression. Don't waste your money and time with headers. Ideally, get the HD exhaust manifold. Otherwise, just stick with the regular production exh manifold. You must have heat under the intake regardless. Otherwise, it will never run right because of fuel condensation along the walls. The HD engines got the Carter YF carb, which had a bigger venturi than the YFA. Make sure there is NO SLOP in the carb linkages. A lot of performance is lost because of loose linkages. The dump truck / school bus 300's gave the best net HP number of 126hp. With the higher compression head, it felt like another 10hp at least. It wasn't the fastest 300 but, it was eager to rev and had great throttle response because it had the hot spot under the intake, like carbureted inline sixes should have.
Reminds me that a few years ago at work we whacked out 2 stones in the wall to throw some 5 meter shafts into the lathe. :D At least your part still fits the room! ^^
Very nice work sir. It’s surely not easy alignment and lathe work on a shaft like that.
Why not just weld a piece to the end and hold that in the chuck and machine it from the chuck end then turn it around and repeat the process?
Becuse i thought it would go much better than it did, and by the time i learned it would not my helper had left for the day and i could not filp the shaft alone
Mustain??
Yes a mustain, what? Two have said this now, i dont get it.
These guys are wee turds
That’s only a last ditch, desperate piece of shit canoe launch
That is so weird, I posted that comment for another video, but it somehow got put into this video! I was trying to comment on people paddling over an aqueduct in Great Britain! Weird!
Well... the aqueduct looks both awesome and downright scary!!!
How is this scary?
That is so odd, I was trying to comment on a different video and it somehow got inserted here! The video was of people kayaking across an aqueduct in Great Britain! Weird!
@@NikonF5userwell, youtube be that way i guess
stick an adjustable centre mount on wall or cantilevered off lathe bed upwards.
Is this a 66 Dave Mustain?.

What year icm are you running
There not a working icm in the truck. The one thats not working, or pluged in is a 94
I need to know how to wired the hei for the 95 i went carb
What's HP ?
The very little, small numbers....
I got a 89 f150 with the 300. Got some valve train noise even after running some sea foam. 160k on it. 125psi in each cylinder on comp test. Wondering if I put new lifters in at that mileage if I should replace the cam as well ?
I would do notting, ive replaced lifters and the new ones ticked just the same.
I’ve read 125psi on compression is low. What are your thoughts on that ?
@@StudioELW405 125 it is getting worn, new was 150ish but it is fine, if it gets below 80 then rebuild it. It will run down to 30 with no power at that point but it will run.
Look here I had the same problem I’m currently in front of 96 f150 4.9 with the engine idling I change the oil and filter and add a bottle of MMO and a quart of transmission fluid that will in deed clean up the gunk free up lifters I went an extra an added motor medic valve medic oil detergent truck is idling and rev smoothly I’m just waiting another day of idling before I drain the oil and change filter so I can do an Italian tune up these 4.9 are awesome to work and runs forever once you take care of them
@@dawson7006 so you just let it idle for a bit say like 20 minutes or so for over 2 -3 days then dump and replace filter and oil again?
What you figure the cost to change over was?
Hello oldreliable303 Justin Scott ! Can I use your video in my video plus comments to help people learn lessons so they can drive safer? I'll put your name on the screen, thank you for reading.
You can, and please send me the link to you video when you post it
yes I will put it at : idiots in car #13. You can watch it next Tuesday. @@oldreliable303
Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing. You did a great job.

Hey men good video 👍 I have a 1991 for f150 Iline 6 That I wanna do the same project but I don’t know what parts do i need will you help me with that?? Thanks and have a nice day
I can, do you have phone number?
The creator of this should reconsider his life
I wont
The old blocks has a manual fule pump
The newer blocks have boss and taped holes, but where the arm goes though for the pump you need to cut a hole. Witch is not hard but you will need to drop the pan to clean shavings.
I'm more impressed with the guy taking the video in this ❗ Just rolled around it😂👍 He just laid back and chilled taking it in stride❗😎🤣👌
You didn’t go fast enough
Definitely saw it in the mirror. Def didn't care.
He did stop, and go pick it up
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Nice work
Glad it wasnt me , i allways tarp my load so this doesnt happen
Will edlebrock 600cfm carb work with this setup?
Yes

Back in the 70's and 80's I ran my 1946 Ford Jailbar V8 on diesel for 18 years. Never used gas at all. Never needed to preheat either.

Cool mate, please show the finished piece
If you mean the pun gun, it still sits in pices, over a year from when i started it. Whenever i do get it done there will be a video
👌 looking forward to see it. Nice job adapting the bit to ream the barrel. How'd you drill it out? Do you have a long drill bit or did you have to drill from each end and meet at the center?
@@davidparker667 a drill bit with a long extsion
Thank you
My dad always restored classic Mustangs and Ford trucks, all my life up until his passing. He told me years ago when I was looking for a good work truck and considering a 351W - to go with a 300 6-Cylinder. He told me it was the best pulling engine you could get in a truck and as tough as any diesel in longevity. I have one in a shop truck with over 400k miles, sitting on 37" tires and tow with it all the time. Engine has had zero major issues, but I've went through 3 transmissions in the lifespan of 330k miles that I have owned it.
Thank you that did help a lot keep up with the good work
Nice truck, the engine is awesome.
I'm pulling out of a 1985 into a 1964
Summit racing wants $700 for the intake these days. you could by 6 carburetors cheaper.
I always wondered about taking an EFI lower intake and building to accommodate six single barrells
Its been done
That gas gauge isn’t accurate is it?😂
It is, but it is sad when it nears the E
I had a shotbox ranger with a shifter that wasn't bolted down. I got good at rocking the car and fishing it back into neutral.
I would truly love your help to change my 93 over so anything’s you could write down for me would be so helpful all part numbers and anything else you could let me know
Whats your phone number, or call me 706 973 7381, i dont white very well its easyer for me to tell you than to tipe it.
If you get a chance, check out my 1996 f 150 4.9 5 speed video, it’s like it came no modification, Great video
So you got rid of the computer completely?
Kind of, the only thing it still does is turn on the light on the dash when you put it 4wd. i could very easly by-pass the computer for that, but its funnyer if i dont
Lol. So how did you hook up the o2 sensor(if at all)? Im doing the same with my 85. Not sure where to wire the temp sensor either, since it’s two wire
@@gabel1661 there is a wide band afr gadge, but it came as a kit and none of it is factory. So the only o2 sensor on the truck is for a gadge and is not the oem one.
@@oldreliable303 I kinda figured, that’s what I had in mind. How’d you wire the temp sensor?
@@gabel1661 that wiring was left untruched, nothing needed to be changed.
wondering if this setup would work with the c6 auto?
Yes it will work just fine
